6 Personalized Garden Signs

by Bill Brikiatis

My garden could use a bit more personality.

In the past, my garden has been all business, all-the-time. What do I mean by this? I mean everything I do has been to increase yields, or grow better tasting fruits and vegetables.

Who cares what the garden looks like or how it makes me feel. Flowers are for pollinators, not for making things look nice.

Garden potting benches are for repotting. Never mind how charming they are. Fencing is for keeping the varmints out, not for making pretty scenery.

After all, this is Suburban Hobby FARMER, not CUTE Garden Grower. But NO MORE. I’m turning over a new leaf (pun intended).

Let’s take a sec to get the legal words out of the way. This article may contain affiliate links. That means if you click and buy from my partners, I will make a tiny amount of money. This in no way affects my recommendations.

I’m starting with garden signs

To add some personality, I’m going to start with adding a sign — Bill’s Garden — to my patch. This is to let everyone know that I am capable of doing something JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT.

It won’t increase yields from my cucumber plants or make my apples taste better. But it will look nice and make me happier.

How do personalized garden signs work?

The sign makers have a “base” design that usually stays the same. But there are some sections of it that can change.

Often, you insert your name or the name of your garden or maybe the year. This makes it customized to your specific garden. It works out nicely.

Here are the signs I’m considering:

Meet the Blogger

Bill Brikiatis

Hello! I’m Bill Brikiatis. I started this website in 2010 to help you get better at growing organic food in your backyard.

I’ve been growing fruits and vegetables for nearly all my life. And I'm over 60.

That’s not to say that I don’t make mistakes. I make plenty, then I write about them so both you and I get better at growing great things to eat.

You can read more about me and Suburban Hobby Farmer on my about page.
